Crash bang wallop what a nightmare!

OK...just about fed up with something that is (it appears) becoming almost a common accurance when you go out for a drive these days (prepare for a rant !).In December the wife was out shopping in Grantham when some young fella in a small blue Daewoo Lanos (i won't publish your reg...you know who you are !) swiped her rear bumper, gouged out a nice 12" line along it and damaged the rear door...then drove off !>>>>>>>>>>fast forward.
Sat in the body repair shop having taken affore mentioned car in for repair, spoke to a lady there who asked what had happened to our vehicle....then told me that her car had been struck behind by "a young fella in a small car" in Boston, Lincs...then he drove off !>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Speaking to a work collegue some days after and guess what ? His wife, sat at lights in Mansfield, car comes wide round the corner, hits her car, reverses !......drives off......description ? "Young lad", car? small Silver car !>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Yesterday, having had our car repaired my wife was driving home from her parents house when whilst turning a corner a "young lad in a small silvery/green car" cut the corner and hit the rear bumper that we have just paid to repair....then drove off !....................Good grief !

My diagnosis ?
With insurance companies charging huge amounts to insure young drivers it is becoming more common for:
A) A driver that is insured...but is worried it will price him out of the market if he reports an accident....thereore he does not stop.
B) A driver that cannot afford insurance (perhaps because of point A) and does not stop for this reason
C) A driver that is just a complete @rse and couldn't give a toss !

In any of the above cases, as the law stands if you report a "hit and run" it is up to you to:

A) Report it within 24 hours
B) Attend a police station with all your documents and licence....or else !
C) If the police station is closed (which is likely as they have fewer open hours than Tesco's now........hey,maybe i have found a new line for Tesco's......"A KG of police please" !)
C) The police will not make any enquiries at all even if you have the offenders description, time, date, area of accident,colour/make of car,reg number unless YOU can complete point B within 24 hours !

So that my friends is why it has become an odds on favourite to "hit and run"....because the chances that the victim will not have time or patience to chase your sorry @ss up, and hence that is why we are seeing an upsurge in this type of "crime"...........The end !:-) Rant over..for now !
